1x03 - Tabula Rasa Aired - 10.06.2004 Centered - Kate
Transcript - No Screencaps - No

The Marshal is dying- loudly- in the camp and Jack and Hurley discover a startling secret about Kate's past.

Meanwhile, Kate, Charlie, Sawyer, Sayid, Boone, and Shannon discover a sobering reason why they can't send
a mayday. Walt continues to search for his dog and befriends Locke, which has Michael concerned about what the
man might want with his son. At the same time, Kate remembers how she and the Marshal's relationship began...

What We Learned:

     - According to the Marshal, Kate is very dangerous and not to be trusted
     - The Marshal has a mugshot of Kate from Harrison Valley Police; her number is 961136
     - Sayid, Charlie, Shannon, Boone, and Sawyer decide not to tell everyone about the French transmission
     - Both Hurley and Jack know about the Marshal's mugshot of Kate
     - In Australia, Kate worked for a man named Ray Mullen, and she told him her name was Annie and she
          was Canadian
     - Sayid told everyone that the transceiver was unable to pick up a signal but that he'll try to boost it with
laptops and cell phones, and suggests that they ration food and set up water collection tarps
     - Kate told Jack the truth about the signal and Jack lied about the Marshal telling him about Kate's past
     - Jack searched the overhead compartments in the fuselage for medicine, and Sawyer looted the bodies for
          other goods
     - Jin is very overprotective and domineering towards Sun- not only forcing her to keep her shirt buttoned to the
top, but suspicious of her socializing with anyone and critical of her being dirty
     - Kate stayed almost three months at Ray Mullen's and was going to leave in the middle of the night but he
convinced her to stay another night, promising to drive her to the train station in the morning
     - Jack told Kate that he saw her mugshot
     - A couple of days before she was planning to leave Ray Mullen's, he saw her wanted poster and decided to turn
her in for the $23,000 reward; the Marshal came to take her in the day he had promised to drive her to the
train station while they were in the car
     - Michael accidentally caught Sun washing herself in a clearing, naked from the waist up, and apologized for it
     - The Marshal's condition is fatal but Jack doesn't want to kill him
     - Kate flipped Ray Mullen's car to avoid being caught by the Marshal, but dragged him to safety at the expense
of her own freedom so he wouldn't be killed
     - Back in Australia, the Marshal knew Kate as Kate, not as Annie
     - Right before the plane crashed, Kate was about the ask the Marshal for a favor; the favor was that Ray
Mullen would get his $23,000 reward
     - The Marshal asked to be killed and Kate gave Sawyer the gun; Sawyer shot the Marshal to put him out of his
misery but he didn't die because Sawyer missed his heart; Jack ended up having to kill the Marshal
     - Locke whittled a whistle out of wood and used it to call Vincent; he then let Michael take credit for finding him

1x04 - Walkabout Aired - 10.13.2004 Centered - Locke
Transcript - No Screencaps - No

The survivors are rudely awoken by boars invading the camp, fearful that the frightening noises coming from the

fuselage could be made by the creature or creatures they've seen tearing down trees in the jungle. Kate and
Michael join Locke on a boar-hunt and a huge secret in Locke's past is revealed. At the same time, Jack decides
what should be done about the bodies in the plane's fuselage, and begans seeing a familiar face through the trees...

What We Learned:

     - There are wild razorback boars on the island
     - Sayid is trying to build various antennas to triangulate the French woman's signal, because the fact that it's
been looping for sixteen years means there must be a large power source

     - Locke had a case of seven hunting knives on the plane, which he had checked beforehand and
          which survived the crash
     - Kate is a vegetarian
     - Kate dropped Sayid's antenna while trying to take it up a tree and it is now broken

          and live off the land
     - Locke uses a TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) to keep his muscles from atrophying
     - Locke's "girlfriend" Helen back in the USA was a woman he called on a 1-900 type service just to talk; they
had talked for eight months until he asked her to go Australia with him, and she told him she couldn't see
customers, and she "broke up with him"
     - Locke was seeing a therapist back home
     - Locke has seen the creature on the island
     - On the plane, Jack was sitting in seat 23a
     - Rose believes that her husband, who was in the tail section of he plane, is still alive and that there is another
          camp of survivors somewhere
     - Jack is hallucinating that his dead father is walking around on the island
     - Locke was able to single-handedly slaughter one of the boar piglets
     - Claire organized a memorial service for the dead passengers using passports, the flight manifest, and other
personal affects and the bodies in the fuselage were burned, along with Locke's wheelchair
     - When Locke arrived in Australia for his walkabout, they wouldn't let him take part because he was in a
wheelchair; Locke is a parapalegic and has been for four years; somehow the plane crash or the island
has negated his condition and he is now able to walk

wreck, including wreckage of the plane itself and his father's coffin
