Appearance: Clara is 5'4", with a voluptuous hourglass figure. She has an olive complexion, long, wavy black hair, and brown eyes. Her face is round and makes her appear slightly younger than her seventeen years. She doesn't stick to a specific style, as long as the clothes look good, and flatter her figure. She also has a thing for crazy earrings. Her favorites are dangly silver chainsaws. She usually wears makeup, even if it's just concealer, but she never cakes it on or wears overly harsh or bold colors, with the exception of brightly-colored lipstick.

Personality: Clara's very introverted and socially awkward, preferring to hide behind a book instead of talking to people, as she's afraid of saying something stupid. Though intelligent and talented, Clara's very insecure about herself. However, she can be talkative, witty, and fun with those who break past the walls she puts up around herself, as it takes her some time to become comfortable enough to really be herself around people. Despite her introverted nature, Clara is an extremely passionate individual, throwing herself into things that really matter to her.

History: After graduating high school, Carmen, unsure of what she wanted to do in life, became a flight attendant along with a friend. It was there that she met Julio, a pilot. In less than two weeks they were dating, and in less than a year, they were married. Clara was born not long after that, and two years later, her younger sister Alicia came along. Carmen became a stay-at-home mom until Alicia had started school, then she went into interior design.

Carmen felt it important for her daughters to fit in with her peers, and this seemed to have a negative effect on Clara, who seemed to think it was fruitless to try and be something she's not, but still felt who she really is wasn't good enough, and began closing herself off with most people She tries to make up for what she feels are "social defects" and pleasing her mother in a different way by getting good grades.

Last year, Clara's family moved from Washington D.C. to Ambrose Island in the middle of the school year when her father retired. She hated having to start over, as it was never easy for her to make friends. She did manage to get some invites to a couple of parties, thanks to Alicia.

Clara's love life has been pretty much nonexistant up until recently. Too shy, and considered a little bit of a nerd by some, she was never a guy magnet. This past summer, Clara met a guy named Jamie at a summer camp for the gifted (or as Alicia calls it, Geek Camp), and they clicked. It only led to making out a couple of times and exchanging email addresses, but it did give Clara a little confidence that she wasn't entirely hopeless with the opposite sex.

Also, within the past few years, Clara has found herself attracted to a few girls. She's never gotten to the point where she's developed full-blown infatuations, so it makes it easy to ignore, but sometimes she's worried about whether she'll always be able to ignore these attractions so easily, and continue hiding her secret.
