Welcome to Ambrose Island High School.
This is an exciting time to be an Ambrose Island High School Pirate! For those of you who are not familiar with our school, we serve the needs of our 400 students in grades 9 through 12. Our school has an teaching staff of sixteen, not including administration and coaches for the many sports available for our students to participate in. We offer programs for both our college-bound students and those who plan to enter the world of post-graduation work.
Success for all is our top priority. We have daily homerooms to help our students adjust to the challenges of high school as well as a range of classes to choose from for their six instructional periods per day. We want our students to be proactive in their own growth as students and members of the community, and the various programs offered at Ambrose Island High gives every student the opportunity to do just that.
It is critical that all students get involved in some of the many activities Ambrose Island High School offers. Research has shown that students who are involved in extra-curricular activities do better in high school and subsequently in college as well. Ambrose Island High School has more than two dozen clubs and activities open to student participation.
Ambrose Island High School boasts 150 years of excellence in education, and our first graduating class of only three students received their diplomas in 1858. Since then, our fierce dedication to a high caliber of eduation has only grown. Together, we can continue to work to make Ambrose Island High School a great place for all students to learn and develop into young adults that we can all be proud of.
Thank you for your continued support.
